Amarinder accuses Badal of delaying legal proceedings
Jalandhar, Mar 22 (UNI) Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh today defended his government's legal action against former Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal in a disproportionate income case and alleged that the latter was trying to delay legal proceedings.
Talking to reporters at Nakodar near here, Capt Singh said Mr Badal and his counsels had tried their best to drag on the hearing in the appeal filed by them before the Supreme Court against the trial.
However, now the apex court bench was near to concluding its proceeding, that of the trial court is likely to resume soon, he added.
He said as soon as the trial resumed, the prosecution would apply before the court to seek authority for undertaking searches at some places abroad to investigate the foreign-based assets of Mr Badal and his family.
