560 hospitals to take part in TB eradication prog from Mar 17

Hyderabad, Mar 22 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Nursing Homes Association Secretary L Suresh today said 560 private hospitals would take part in 'Stop TB Week' jointly organised by the state government and NGOs from March 17 to 23.

Addressing the press here, Dr Suresh said the hospitals were providing basic diagnostic facilities to identify the victims of Tuberculosis at mass awareness programmes organised in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad.

Stating that the TB week was being organised with a motto of DOTS (Directly Observed Treatment Short-Course) for all, he said the hospitals were also providing training to DOTS volunteers.

He said the association would distribute free medicine to the patients on March 24, observed as World TB Day.
