'UPA minority appeasement policy led to terrorism'

Palakkad (Kerala) Mar 21: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has alleged that the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Government's minority appeasement policy led to increased terrorism in the country.

Inaugurating the BJP's election campaign in Kerala yesterday, party president Rajnath Singh said the minority appeasement policy had led to spurt in terrorism activities as witnessed in the form of blasts in Varanasi and Kozhikode.

He also alleged that the UPA government was now infusing religion into the Armed forces which would be strongly opposed by the party.

On the BJP's poll prospects in the state, Mr Singh said the party was well placed in the state and would open its account in the assembly. He also declared that former Union Minister O Rajagopal would be contesting from the Palakkad constituency.

BJP State president P S Sreedharan Pillai and P P Mukundan were also present on the occasion.
