Red Star stay three points clear in Serbia after 3-2 win

BELGRADE, Mar 21 (Reuters) Leaders Red Star Belgrade won 3-2 at city rivals Obilic today to stay three points clear of champions Partizan Belgrade in the Serbia and Montenegro first division.

Red Star's Dusan Djokic scored two goals early in the game.

Aleksandar Lukovic then slotted home a penalty on the stroke of halftime after the home side had drawn level through Bozidar Tadic and Dejan Randjelovic.

Partizan beat Zeta Golubovci 1-0 to stay in the two-way title race after a Stefan Babovic goal in the 46th minute. However, they lost international midfielder Nenad Brnovic who suffered a fractured leg early in the game.

At the other end of the table, Borac Cacak enjoyed a 1-0 win at Buducnost Banatski Dvor to move into ninth in the 16-team league.

Seven clubs will be relegated and only three promoted to cut the first division to 12 teams.
