Ranchi official convicted in fodder scam involvement

New Delhi, Mar 21: The CBI Special Judge Ranchi has sentenced former Assistant Director (Planning) Dr Krishna Mohan Prasad of South Chhotanagpur Range to six years imprisonment for his involvement in the fodder scam and possessing disproportionate assets to the tune of more than Rs four crore.

The case was registered against the, former Assistant Director(Planning) office of the Regional Director, AHD, Ranchi for possession of assets disproportionate to his known sources of income. A chargesheet was filed in the court by the CBI against him on December 16, 2000.

During the trial, 114 prosecution witnesses and 14 Defence witnesses were examined; and as many as 1061 documents were also exhibited by the CBI to prove the charge.

Krishna was possesssing assets to the tune of Rs 4,07,79,722 to his known sources of income.
