Munaf Patel finds place in ODI squad, Sachin out due to injury
Mumbai, Mar 21 (UNI) Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar has pulled out of the ODI series against England due to a shoulder injury while pace bowler Munaf Patel, found a place in the squad for the first three matches.
The national selectors, who met here today, announced a 15-member squad for the first three ODIs in which the only change from the Test squad being Munaf Patel coming in place of Tendulkar.
Murali Karthik has also not been considered due to injury, while Harbhajan Singh, who missed the Pakistan tour due to injury, has made a comeback.
India received a jolt as Sachin Tendulkar had to pull out of the ODIs due to shoulder injury and will have to undergo a surgery in England which will put him out of action for eight weeks.
Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) joint secretary M P Pandove and chief selector Kiran More announced the 15-member squad today.
The Team: Rahul Dravid (Capt), Virender Shewag, Gautam Gambhir, Yuvraj Singh, Mohd. Kaif, Suresh Raina, M S Dhoni, Irfan Pathan, R P Singh, S Sreesanth, Munaf Patel, Ajit Agarkar, Harbhajan Singh, Venugopal Rao and Ramesh Powar.
