Mehbooba favours entrusting JK police in the state

Jammu, Mar 21 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) President Mehbooba Mufti, has favoured entrusting the job of internal security of the state to local police following improvement in the overall situation in the state.

She also lauded the the role of security forces and Army in tackling militancy.

While addressing public meetings in Rajouri district, Ms Mehbooba gave full credit to the security forces in tackling the situation to the extent that democratic process had become possible which is progressing since the installation of the coalition government.

While saying the economic emancipation was imperative for tackling chronic issues of unemployment and backwardness, the PDP Lok Sabha Member emphasised on complete rights over river waters of the state.

She said industrialisation of the state without power was not possible. She said securing this right for the betterment of the people was a vital part of the PDP manifesto.

However, she said, time had come for the central government needs to consider the proposal of her party seriously, adding that this would strengthen the trust of people further, besides opening of employment opportunities for local youth.
