Mahant named PCC chief of Chhattisgarh

New Delhi, Mar 21 (UNI) Mr Charan Das Mahant, acting president of the Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee, was today appointed as its full-fledged president.

Mr Mahant replaces Mr Motilal Vora, who was hitherto heading the Chhattisgarh PCC, in addition to his responsibilities as AICC treasurer.

The appointment of Mr Mahant, who had been a home minister in undivided Madhya Pradesh, was appointed to the post by Congress President Sonia Gandhi, an AICC release here today said.
