Gujarat Tourism film wins national award

Ahmedabad, Mar 21 (UNI) The film ''Glimpses of Glory'', made by Gujarat Tourism Corporation, has won the National Tourism Award for the Best Tourism Film for 2004-05.

The film focuses on the various tourist attractions in the State. It also highlights the opportunities for medical tourism, heritage tourism, eco and adventure tourism, festival tourism and spiritual tourism, the State offers.

Chief Minister Narendra Modi has congratulated the department for its achievement, even as the State celebrates 2006 as the ''Year of Tourism''.

The National Awards are given to state governments, classified hotels, heritage hotels, tour operators and individuals in recognition of their performances in their respective spheres and to encourage healthy competition, a department release said.
