Govt to send Sikh officers to gurudwaras in Pakistan
Chandigarh, Mar 21 (UNI) The Haryana Government has decided to provide an opportunity to its Sikh officers posted in Chandigarh and Panchkula to visit Gurudwaras in Pakistan and the next group has been proposed to visit the neighbouring country on the occasion of Martyrdom Day of Guru Arjun Dev ji falling on June 16 this year.
An official spokesman yesterday said that Haryana Government has been sending groups of Sikh pilgrims from the State to Gurudwaras in Pakistan on different occasions.
Till now the officers posted at Panchkula and Chandigarh have not got an opportunity in the existing system, he added.
All heads of departments in Chandigarh and Panchkula have been urged to forward the names of those intended to visit Pakistan, he said. The names should be forwarded to the Deputy Secretary (General Branch) in the office of Chief Secretary in a prescribed proform by April 15 this year.
