Former Indian Test bowler K Ghavri's brother commits suicide

Rajkot, Mar 21 (UNI) The brother of former India Test bowler Karsan Ghavri, Jayant Ghavri alias Jelly has allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself after killing his cousin Hina, police said today.

Police said, Jayant (40) first allegedly killed Hina (25), with whom he had illicit relations, by hitting her head on a wall and then strangled himself at his residence here last evening.

A suicide note, written to his brother Karsan Ghavri, was recovered lying near the body. It stated that he was in debt and unable to bear the finanical constraints, hence he decided to end his life, they added.

The deceased were living as husband and wife without being married since the last few years. The family members were against their relationship.

The duo had frequent fights over financial and other matters.

Further investigations into the case are on.
