Electric poles erected to influence voters: Minister
Bhopal, Mar 21 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Energy Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya today told the Assembly that electric poles were erected in certain villages without budget sanction on the eve of elections to 'influence' the voters.
The minister made this revelation during question hour when Ms Sunita Bele(Cong) sought to know whether the poles would be removed or lines laid on the poles erected at village Pastalai in Amla constituency in Betul district.
Mr Vijayvargiya said the poles were erected on the eve of the 2003 Assembly election. The poles were erected for strengthening the supply system and lines would be laid if the villagers paid the arrears, he added.
