Bush disagrees Iraq fallen in civil war

Written by: Staff

WASHINGTON, Mar 21 (Reuters) President George W Bush today said he disagreed with those who said Iraq had fallen into a civil war.

Asked whether he agreed with former Iraqi interim Prime Minister Iyad Allawi's comments that Iraq was already in civil war, Bush said: ''I do not, there are other voices coming out of Iraq.'' ''We all recognize that there is violence, that there is sectarian violence,'' Bush said at a press conference. ''The way I look at it the Iraqis took a look and decided not to give in to civil war.'' Public opinion polls show Americans have become increasingly dissatisfied with Bush's handling of the Iraq war in which more than 2,300 U.S. troops have been killed.
