Arjun Atwal hopes to be third time lucky in 'fifth Major'
Florida, Mar 21 (UNI) After failing to make the cut in back-to-back events, Arjun Atwal will tee off in world's richest golf tournament, the Players Championship, hoping to be third time lucky in the event what is known as the 'fifth Major'.
Apart from Atwal, Indian-born Swede Daniel Chopra will also be in the fray at the eight million dollar event which starts at the demanding TPC of Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach here on Thursday.
World number 134 Atwal has had a bad time in the greens in recent past with the Kolkata pro missing cuts first in Honda Classic and then in the Bay Hill Invitational.
Daniel Chopra, on the other hand, showed better form and though he finished tied 59th in Bay Hill, he played impressive golf in the first three rounds before faltering on the final day in the the five million dollar event.
In the Players Championship on Sunday, the winner will walk away with a whopping cheque of at least 1.44 million dollar.
All the players in the top 10 of World Rankings, including world number one Tiger Woods, Fijian Vijay Singh and South African Retief Goosen will be in action in the tournament.
TEN Sports will telecast the event live.
