Lucknow, Mar 20 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Governor T V Rajeswar today accepted the resignations of two rebel state ministers -- Jaiveer Singh and Surendra Vikram Singh -- on the recommendation of Chief Minister Mulayam Singh.

Mr Mulayam Singh's recommendation came after he failed to pacify the duo.

Minister of State for Health Jaiveer Singh and Minister of State for Food and Supplies Surendra Vikram Singh -- both Samajwadi Party MLAs -- had tendered their resignations to the Governor on March one, stating they wanted to rejoin the BSP.

The two ministers along with three other rebel SP MLAs had approached the Governor claiming they wanted to rejoin the BSP.

These five MLAs were among the 38 BSP MLAs, who had joined the SP in September 2003, but a decision of the Allahabad High Court on Februrary 28 had struck down the UP Speaker's order recognising their merger with the SP.
