Sehgal to train rowers at national camp

Chandigarh, Mar 20 (UNI) The Rowing Federation of India has appointed Arvind Sehgal as coach for the national camp to train the Indian rowers for the 15th Asian Games to be held in Doha from December 4 to 7.

Sports Authority of India (SAI) nominated Sehgal, who is working with the Chandigarh Sports Council, on the basis of consistent good performance by the Chandigarh rowers trained by him, in the Inter-University and the national meets.

Arvind's three trainees, Manjeet Singh, Robin Rawat and Kanav Dosajh are already in the national camp at Hyderabad preparing for the 11th Junior Asian Rowing Competition to be held in Singapore.

The names of Munshaidi Kahtun and Saroj Bala of Chandigarh Rowing Association are also under consideration by Rowing Federation of India for the national camp starting on April 1 at Jagatpura (Orissa) for the 15th Asian Games in Doha. They are medal winners in the 26th Open National Rowing Championship at Hyderabad from February 14 to 19.
