Seer case post poned till to Mar 28

Pondicherry, Mar 20: Pondicherry Principal District and Sessions Judge M Chinnapandi, hearing the Sankararaman murder case in which the Kanchi Acharyas are the main accused, today posted the case to March 28 for framing of charges.

Of the 24 accused, 22, including prime accused Jayendra Saraswati and Vijayendra Saraswati, appeared before the court today.

However, two of the accused -- Meenakshi Sundaram and Arumugham-- failed to turn up. Separate petitions were filed by their counsels citing the reason for their absence.

Objecting to this, Tamil Nadu Special Public Prosecutor Balasundaram submitted the absence should be viewed seriously as the court was scheduled to frame the charges against all the accused today. He demanded the court to issue a direction to bring all the accused tomorrow or a warrant in case of failure to do so.
