PM to flag off Amritsar-Nankana Sahib bus on Mar 24
New Delhi, Mar 20 (UNI) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will visit Amritsar on March 24 to flag off the fourth bus service between India and Pakistan that will link the holy city to another Sikh shrine, Nankana Sahib.
This will be the second bus service from Amritsar, the earlier being with Lahore. The other India-Pakistan bus services are Delhi-Lahore and Srinagar-Muzaffarabad.
A PMO spokesman today confirmed that Dr Singh would flag off the Amritsar-Nankana Sahib birthplace of Guru Nanak, the founder of the religion bus.
The inauguration of the bus service has been deferred several times earlier due to various reasons.
As part of the confidence building measures aimed at normalisation of bilateral relations and resolution of the Kashmir issue, the two countries also resumed the century-old Munabao-Khokhrapar train service last month.
