Pini win's 100m butterfly, PNG's first at Games
MELBOURNE, Mar 20 (Reuters) Ryan Pini won the 100 metres butterfly at the Commonwealth Games today to provide Papua New Guinea with their first-ever swimming title at the Games.
Pini led all the way to claim victory in 52.64 seconds ahead of Australia's former world record holder Michael Klim (52.70) and New Zealand's Moss Burmester (52.73).
Pini was named Papua New Guinea's sportsman of the year in 2003 and 2004.
