Muralidharan, Poncha sink again

Melbourne, Mar 20 (UNI) Indian swimmers continue to cut sorry figure in the Commonwealth Games and quite on the expected lines, both Arjun Muralidharan and Rehan Poncha were eliminated in the heats of the 200m Individual Medley events here today.

Poncha clocked 2:13.22s in the heats to finish fifth while compatriot Muralidharan timed marginally better -- 2:13.21s -- also to finish fifth in the heats.

It was the same story in 100m free event of the Elite Athletes with Disability (EAD) section, where Prem Kumar (1:22.49s) finished fourth, followed by compatriot TK Subbaiah who timed 1:27.07s.
