Monica Bedi meets father in jail

Hyderabad, Mar 20 (UNI) Bollywood actress Monica Bedi, accused in the fake passport case, today met her father Prem Kumar Bedi and uncle Purushotham Lal Bedi in Chanchalguda jail.

Mr Bedi filed a petition this morning in the Special Court for CBI cases, Hyderabad, seeking permission to meet his daughter, who is in judicial remand here. The court permitted a 30-minute meeting.

Later, in the afternoon, Mr Bedi and Mr Purushotham lal went to Chanchalguda women's jail and spoke to Monica for some time.

Mr Bedi later told the media he had met his daughter after four years. He said he was moved to see his daughter in such a situation. 'My daughter is innocent. I will do my best to bring my daughter out of the case as she is innocent', he said.

Mr Bedi, who had been in Norway for a number of years, returned to India a week ago, according to police sources.
