Mumbai, Mar 20 (UNI) Anupam Mittal and Subho Ray have been appointed chairman and president respectivelty of Internet&Mobile Association of India (IAMAI).

Mittal and Ray will take over from Neville Taraporewalla and Preeti Desai from April 1, an Association statement said today.

Mittal is founder of Shaadi.com and Mauj Telecom, while Ray is a former director of Confederation of Indian Industry's IT&Telecom wing, it added.

Mittal said the Association will play the role of a thought leader to spur internet usage and e-commerce growth in India, generate awareness among consumers and government of economic and social benefits of internet usage and proactively address challenges and hurdles that might come in the way of accelrating growth of internet and mobile telephony in the country.

Ray said the Association will try to bring 10 crore Indians online by 2007 and empower society and businesses to benefit from the time and cost savings offered by the Internet.
