Kathmandu, March 20 (UNI) Maoists in Nepal today lifted the blockade of Kathmandu and major towns after issuing statement renewing the commitment to the 12 Point agreement with the seven major political parties.

Life returned to normalcy when vehicles in the long route including in and out of Kathmandu started to move from this morning, which had been obstructed for the past six days.

However, they faced problems in some places due to the barricade placed by the Maoists during the blockade.

The blockade affected normal life as the prices of goods increased drastically in Kathmandu and other major towns due to the disruption of vehicle movement.

The Maoists withdrew the blockade after signing the agreement with the seven parties yesterday.

The seven parties and the Maoists reiterated their commitment for the restoration of democracy through the election of a constituent assembly.
