Lenton wins 50m freestyle title
MELBOURNE, Mar 20 (Reuters) World champion Libby Lenton led an Australian cleansweep of the medals in the women's 50 metres freestyle at the Commonwealth Games today.
Lenton took gold in 24.61 seconds, just ahead of Jodie Henry (24.72) and Alice Mills (25.03) in a repeat of the placings in the 100m freestyle final two days ago.
Lenton also won gold in the 4x200m freestyle relay as well as silver medals in the 200m freestyle and 100m butterfly.
The 20-year-old is also entered in the 4x100m freestyle relay, where she will team up with Henry and Mills, and the 4x100m medley relay. Australia are strong favourites to win both events.
