Himalya's USD 2.5 mn Mozzarella Cheese Plant in HP inaugrated
Mumbai, Mar 20 (UNI) Himalya International's 100 cent per cent Export Oriented Mozzarella Cheese Plant at Paonta Sahib in Himachal Pradesh was inaugrated by Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh (HP) Virbhadra Singh yesterday.
Central Minister of State for Food Processing Industries Subhodh Kant Sahay presided over the function.
Himalya is the only company that produces mozzarella cheese in India. Mozerella is a specialty cheese made out of buffalo milk.
The project has been set up in collaboration with the American company Artiginale Italiano. The American Company has provided technical know-how in setting up the project. It shall also market the cheese in United States, the company said.
The project set up at a cost of USD 2.5 million has a capacity to process 1.5 lakh litres of milk per day, which translates to USD 25 million of exports per anum, the company informed.
