HFI announces 16-member team for Hong Kong

Chandigarh, Mar 20 (UNI) The Handball Federation of India (HFI) today announced a 16-member team which will take part in the International Handball Tournament to be held in Hong Kong from April 14 to 17.

According to HFI secretary general S M Bali, besides the 16 players, four standbys were also selected. These 20 players will continue to attend the national camp which is in progress at the National Institute of Sports in Patiala. The camp will conclude on April 11.

The selection was made after four sessions of trials conducted in Patiala, by a selection committee comprising S M Bali, government nominee Veenu Gopal, chief coach Mahinder Pal and coach Rajpal.

Germany, Turkey, China, Taipei and hosts Hong Kong are the other countries participating in the tournamnet.
