Good deed lands IT professional in trouble

Bangalore, Mar 20 (UNI) A software engineer's good deed landed him in trouble on the outskirts of the city today.

Police said Bhaskar Rai, working with a reputed IT firm, was on his way to office in his car near Whitefield when his plumber, Jaikumar, asked him for a lift and the latter obliged. Within a few minutes, he was forced to accommodate another person in the vehicle on Jaikumar's request.

The duo suddenly attacked Rai and tried to kidnap him by taking control of the vehicle. As their attempt failed, the duo opened fire at Rai and fled the scene. However, Rai had a providential escape as the duo misfired in a hurry to get away from the scene.

Rai sustained minor bruises in the melee and was admitted to a private hospital.
