Five Bangladeshis arrested in Kutch district

Bhuj, Mar 20 (UNI) Five Bangladeshi nationals, who had entered India illegally, have been arrested by the Gujarat police near Rudramata on the outskirts of the city in Kutch district.

A police patrolling party spotted them yesterday while they were having their meal in a hotel, about 15 km from here. They were taken to the joint interrogation centre for questioning. Only one of them had a valid passport.

During interrogation, they confessed that they had entered India eight months ago via West Bengal. They had travelled to Jaipur, Ajmer before coming here, the police said adding they intended to pay homage to Hazi Pir here before crossing the border.

One of the Bangladeshis said he was on the lookout for his sister who had been kidnapped and taken to Pakistan. He said as he came to know about her whereabouts, he decided to travel to Pakistan along with few friends, the police said.
