Day temperature hovers above normal across India

Pune, Mar 20 (UNI) Day temperatures were appreciably above normal in some parts of Assam and Meghalaya and Kutch and were above normal in Manipur, coastal Orissa, Uttarnchal, Himachal Pradesh, Rajshtan, Gujarat, Konkan and Goa, south Tamil Nadu and coastal Karnataka. They were below normal in Andhra Pradesh and in some parts of interior Orissa, Haryana, Kashmir, Marathwada, Vidarbha, Chattisgarh and south interior Karnataka. They were normal over the rest of the country.

Night temperatures were appreciably below normal in Tripura, Gangetic West Bengal, Orissa and Jharkhand and were below normal in Bihar, east Uttar Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Chattisgarh and north coastal Andhra Pradesh. They were appreciably above normal in some parts of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujrat and north madhya Maharashtra and were above normal in some parts of Uttarnchal, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Saurashtra and Kutch, Konkan, Marathwada, south coastal Andhra Pradesh and in remaining parts of Madhya Pradesh. They were normal over the rest of the country.

It is likely to rain or snow at few places in Uttaranchal, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir.

Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at isolated places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, west Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, north Rajasthan, madhya Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, interior Karnataka and Kerala, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep and mainly dry weather will prevail over West Bengal and Sikkim, Orissa, Jharkhand, Bihar, east Uttar Pradesh, south Rajasthan, Gujarat, Konkan and Goa, Marathwada, Andhra Pradesh state and coastal Karnataka.

Rain or thundershowers have occurred at many places in Jammu and Kashmir and at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh and Kerala.
