Coldwave conditions in HP
Shimla, Mar 20 (UNI) The tribal valleys and other higher hills of Himachal Pradesh are reeling under intense cold wave conditions after receiving another spell of fresh snow, while the adjoining areas were lashed by intermittent rain during the last 24 hours.
The high altitude areas of Kinnuar, Kullu, Lahaul-Spiti and Chamba districts experienced another spell of fresh snowfall and official sources said Keylong, the district headquarter of Lahaul-Spiti, had received about 30 cm of fresh snow.
Petsio recorded over 10 cm of snow, while Koksar and Sissu recorded 25 cm of snow since last night.
The famous tourist resort of Manali in Kullu district was lashed by intermittent rain since morning, while higher altitude areas were experiencing snow.
Official sources said Dhundi and Solang Nullah in Kullu district had about 20 cm and 10 cm of snow till 1500 hrs.
Rekong Peo, the district headquarter of Kinnuar, and Kalpa were receiving intermittent rain, while the higher reaches of the district were experiencing snow since morning, plummeting day and night temperatures in the district.
