Capgemini to employ 10,000 people in India by 2007
Kolkata, Mar 20 (UNI) Leading consulting, technology and outsourcing services company Capgemini will employ 10,000 people in India by 2007.
The company providing business and IT solutions to companies in 30 countries would ramp up the headcount in India to 6,000 by 2006 from the current level of 4,000, Capgemini CEO Paul Hermelin told reporters here today.
Mr Hermelin was in the city to announce the launch of a 500-seat new centre here.
The centre will cater to the business process outsourcing, package implementation and web-based custom software development work.
The Kolkata centre will be the third one in India after Mumbai and Bangalore.
''The new centre demonstrates the expansion plans of Capgemini in India through the Capgemini Rightshore network of BPO centres which has a strong presence in Poland (Krakow) and China (Guangzhou),'' Capgemini outsourcing services global head Paul Spence said.
The Kolkata centre would be Capgemini's 8th centre in the world, he said.
Capgemini reported global revenues of 6954 million Euros in 2005 and employs around 61,000 people worldwide.
