Chennai, Mar 20 (UNI) (BJP) president Rajnath Singh today said the party was fully confident of finalising a tie-up with the Trinamool Congress for the Assembly elections in West Bengal.

Talking to newspersons here, he said, ''We are fully confident of the alliance. In fact, we have already made the alliance.'' An alliance between Congress and Trinamool Congress was simply not possible, Mr Singh said.

To a question, he said the Election Commission had done a good job in the Bihar Assembly elections and it should come out with a similar performance in the forthcoming Assembly elections to five states.

He said the party had given a representation to President A P J Abdul Kalam against Election Commissioner Navin Chawla and was awaiting the President's decision to pursue further course of action.
