ULFA denounces electoral system

Guwahati, Mar 19 (UNI) ULFA today denounced the electoral process but stopped short of calling for a boycott call like past and warned the political parties not to use its name to their political advantage.

In a statement, ULFA chairman Aurobindo Rajkhowa denounced the whole process reasserting such elected government could not fulfil the aspirations of the common people.

He said for decades through every election, the ruling class had been using the oppressed ordinary people for their advantage. The statement also blamed the government for not being sincere enough to bring a lasting solution.

In past the ULFA had issued boycott call and such call had indirectly benefited the Congress. But this time the ULFA had realised that every political party was trying to use the ULFA's stand to their own advantage. '' We rather term the whole election process as nothing but hogwash, '' the Chairman said.
