SP alleges Centre's hand in Jaya Bachchan episode
Sultanpur, Mar 19 (UNI) The ruling Samajwadi Party today alleged that Congress-led central government had a hand in the disqualification of cineactor Jaya Bachchan from the Rajya Sabha membership.
Uttar Pradesh SP president Ram Sharan Das, addressing a function here, said despite many MPs of Congress and other parties holding offices of profit, the Election Commission under the pressure of Centre was only issuing notices against SP MPs.
''There was a clear Congress hand in the termination of Rajya Sabha membership of Ms Bachchan,'' he further alleged.
Mr Das also said the UP government was promoting education in the state on the lines of the British government.
