NID Bamboo centre wins best design award

New Delhi, Mar 19 (UNI) The Centre for Bamboo Initiatives at the National Institute of Design (NID), Ahmedabad, has won the best innvovative product design award at the recently concluded North East Trade Expo here.

The NID centre's stall at the Expo was adjudged the 'Best for showcasing Most Innovative Product Design' in the category of public sector undertakings.

The NID team for the exhibition included faculty member Sandesh R, student Arvind Dutta and craftsmen Piyush Panchal and Ranjit Debburman.

The bamboo furniture and the design strategy developed by the NID centre team won praises from visitors as well.
