Mukesh Kumar to set up Academy

Tirupati, Mar 19 (UNI) Former Olympian and India captain Mukesh Kumar is all set to come up with a Hockey Academy in Hyderabad.

A three-time Olympian, Mukesh, who offered worship to Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala, said the Andhra Pradesh Government had santioned five acres of land for setting up the academy which would also promote other sports.

he said the academy would be of International standards.

Facilities for basketball, volleyball, and athletics would also be created at the academy, he said.

Hockey icon Dhanraj Pillai, coach Subbanna and several senior coaches have offered to coach at the academy, which would cater to middle class youth, he said.
