Mehbooba asks for acceleration of work on Mughal Road

Jammu, Mar 19 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) President Mehbooba Mufti, suggested opening five points on the Line of Control (LoC) for common people, besides exploring possibilities of introducing trade through these points.

Addressing a public meeting at Thanna Mandi and Dharhal in Rajouri district, Ms Mehbooba has asked for dovetail efforts for timely completion of the Mughal Road so that economic activities get a boost in the down trodden Rajouri and Poonch district.

She underscored need for speedy execution of this alternate national highway, which, she said would go a long way in throwing open the scenic spots of the two districts for tourists, adding that this will boost socio-economic profile of the people in these districts.

Ms Mehbooba also suggested evolving concrete and useful strategy for motivating industrial captains to invest in the two districts for utilisation of available resources. She strongly pleaded for reviewing of defunct resin plants in Rajouri district.

Explaining broad contours of party s self-rule proposal, the PDP president said the concept accommodates not only political, resolution of all the three regions but it also fulfills the aspirations of the people towards yielding common self-reliance.
