Madan Lal Khurana invited to lead 3rd front in Delhi

New Delhi, Mar 19 (UNI) Senior BJP leader Madan Lal Khurana has been invited to lead a third front in the national capital.

Nationalist Congress Party MLA Ramvir Singh Bidhuri and Janata Dal (S) legislator Shoaib Iqbal have told Mr Khurana that they were ready to launch a third front in Delhi under his leadreship provided he left the BJP.

Even as several Congress and BJP members showed inclination to join hands with the front, Mr Khurana is to give his response by today.

Dissapointed with the leadership of both, the Congress and the BJP, the third front would taken up the cause of lakhs of people in the city who were faced with a serious situation of threat to their livelihood.

''We strongly feel that Mr Khurana should walk out of the party and lay the foundation of the third front in Delhi so that both, the BJP and the Congress, are exposed due to their anti-people and anti-poor polices. We will whole-heartedly stand with Mr Khurana after he shuns the communal saffron party and joins the struggle for the rights of the people of Delhi,'' Mr Bihduri said.

When lakhs of people were faced with an uncertain situation including uprootment of their livelihood, the Delhi BJP leaders have turned a blind eye to their suffereings.

The pary and its leaders had failed to perform their role effectively and their actions nowhere suggest they were agitating for the common man, he said.

It was also surprising that the Central BJP leaders instead of taking up the plight of Delhiites were talking about taking out yatras to further their own political ambitions, he added.

Mr Bidhuri had moved a private members resolution seeking to regularise shops and other commercial establishments running in residential areas of the city, which was unanimously passed by the Delhi Assembly on the last day of its just-concluded Budget session.

He also moved a private members resolution stating that rural status of the villages should not be altered and those villages which were declared urbanised be restored in the category of villages and simultaneously be exempt them from house tax and building bye-laws.
