HWC proposes to set up Inland Container Depot at Palwal

Chandigarh, Mar 18 (UNI) Haryana Warehousing Corporation (HWC) plans to set up an Inland Container Depot (ICD) at Palwal near Kundli-Palwal-Manesar Expressway to decongest the container traffic at ICD, Tuglakabad.

After presenting a cheque of Rs 58.40 lakh towards dividend for 2004-05 to Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Managing Director of the Corporation R K Ranga said the Corporation was also running an Inland Container Depot-cum-Container freight station at Rewari to provide cost effective services to the exporters and importers of Haryana, Rajasthan, parts of Punjab and Western Uttar Pradesh.

The ICD has handled 11,158 import and export containers upto February this year, he said.

The Corporation was also planning to set up a specialised modern warehousing complex in the fruit and vegetable market at Rai near Sonipat, Mr Ranga added.
