HSIDC allots 25 industrial plots to domestic and MNCs

Chandigarh, Mar 19 (UNI) The Haryana State Industrial Development Corporation (HSIDC) has allotted 25 industrial plots for large sector projects, with capital investment of around Rs 1135 crore in the last one year, to the Bawal growth centre in Rewari district.

The centre has now emerged as a preferred destination for both domestic and multinational companies.

HSIDC Managing Director Rajeev Arora said today prominent among these include Keihin Fie Pvt Ltd, Talbros India Ltd, Mitusi Mining and Smelting Co Ltd, Los Angeles Candy Ltd, Asian Colour Coated Ispat Ltd, Liberty Group of companies, Asahi India Glass Ltd, Saera Corporation Ltd of Japan and Eurotherm Hema Radiators India Ltd.

He said the centre has also dedicated sectors for housing and institutional and commercial activities.

The Japanese zipper major YKK India Pvt Ltd has decided to go for an expansion of their existing manufacturing facilities at the centre, he said.

Mr Arora said the Corporation has allotted about 10 acres of land for this expansion project involving a capital cost of more than Rs 350 crore. The decision of the company to opt for the Bawal centre, has been the result of a number of meetings held with the top management of the YKK Corporation by a high-level business delegation led by Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda in Tokyo in December last.

He said the YKK India was a wholly owned subsidiary of YKK Corporation, Japan engaged in manufacturing zippers and slide fasteners in an integrated plant set up at Bawal in 1997. At optimum capacity utilisation, the project would provide direct employment to more than 300 persons. The project would go on stream by the middle of 2008.

With the dismantling of the quota regime, there has been a sudden surge in the exports of apparel from India with many new global scale apparel manufacturing plants being set up in the country. This has generated additional demand for apparel accessories to meet the export production, Mr Arora said.
