Govt relaxes norms for building construction

Chandigarh, Mar 19 (UNI) The Haryana government has decided to relax the existing composition policy for all types of buildings sanctioned under the Punjab Scheduled Roads and Controlled Areas Restriction of Unregulated Development Act, 1963.

A spokesman of the Haryana Town and Country Planning Department said the decision was taken in the interest of the general public to frame norms for any violation and deviation in the policy which was earlier not covered.

He said in the amended policy, certain major reliefs were granted regarding the excess covered area beyond permissible limit within the zoning line, extra covered area permitted beyond the zoning line.

Cantilever projection and the construction raised without getting the plans sanctioned by the authorities concerned will be compounded as per the revised rates of upto 10 per cent from the earlier five per cent, he added.
