Gaurav Ghei tied fifth, Jeev Milkha Singh tie for 7th in TCL Classic
Beijing, Mar 19 (UNI) Notwithstanding the bogey on the 15th hole, Gaurav Ghei's otherwise flawless final round of six-under 66 was enough to earn him the tied fifth place while compatriot Jeev Milkha Singh finished tied seventh -- their best finish in recent past -- in the million dollar TCL Classic today.
At the top of the table, Swede Johan Edfors (263) carded four-under 68 and benefitted from overnight leader David Howell's (268) dip in form to record his maiden win on the European Tour.
Howell's three-over 75 in the fourth round saw him finish in a tie for seventh.
Ghei had an impressive front nine, with a trio of birdies and an eagle on the seventh. Coming home back, the Indian birdied the 13th hole but dropped a shot on the 15th before compensating with a birdie in the next hole. His four-day tally stood 21-under 267.
One shot behind was Jeev Milkha Singh (268), who overcame a barren front nine fraught with three bogeys and then bailed himself out with two hat-tricks of birdies on his way back.
Amandeep Johl (274) finished tied 21st after his level-par final round while Shiv Kapur (71) and Rahil Gangjee (73) share the 41st spot at 11-under 277 in the co-sanctioned European and Asian Tour event at Yalong Bay Golf Club.
