Four shops reduced to ashes in a major fire

Siliguri, Mar 19 (UNI) At least four shops were reduced to ashes at Hongkong market in Bidhan road area here last night.

Police today said four fire tenders, pressed into service to douse the blaze, fought for half an hour to bring the fire uner control.

None was, however, injured.

Police put the damage to the tune of Rs more than 3.5 lakh.

The fire was caused by short circuit.
