Former Punjab Ranji cricketer passes away
Chandigarh, Mar 19 (UNI) Former Punjab cricketer Swamy Talwar died here today after a prolonged illness.
Talwar was born on June 11, 1940 and played 39 first class matches.
Dronacharya coach Desh Prem Azad, Punjab Cricket Association officials GS Sandhu, GS Walia, curator Daljit Singh, umpire Jasbir Singh and a large number of Punjab and Haryana cricketers attended the cremation.
''Swamy was a true gentleman and a great cricketer of his time,'' recalled Azad.
Swamy was elder brother of cricket coach Sarkar Talwar, Deputy Director in Haryana Sports Department.
