Congress ready to support DAN for any peace policy
Kohima, Mar 19 (UNI) Veteran Congress leader I Imkong said the Congress was ready to cooperate with the Democratic Alliance of Nagaland (DAN) government provided it was committed towards everlasting peace in the state.
Taking part in the discussion on the motion of thanks to the Governor's address, Mr Imkong appealed to the ruling DAN government to take a up a policy to give peace a chance.
He accused the state Home Minister for his alleged failure to maintain law and order saying inter-factional clashes among the underground groups and recovery of dead bodies has become a daily affair. Extortion and intimidation continued unabated, he added.
Mr Imkong also accused the state government for not doing enough to improve the mobile service of BSNL in the state, adding that state government was a silent spectator.
The opposition leader criticised the tourism policy saying there were no tourist lodges. He appealed to the state government to pay attention to this sphere since tourism had become a great source of employment and generated huge revenue.
