Cong claims BJP-SP hand in glove in biennial RS polls in UP
Muzaffarnagar, Mar 19 (UNI) The Congress today alleged that the ruling Samajwadi Party and the opposition BJP were hand-in-glove for the upcoming biennial elections to Rajya Sabha from Uttar Pradesh.
UPCC president Salman Khurshid, addressing a public rally here, said the collusion between the two parties was accentuated best by the SP's efforts to mobilise support of independent MLAs for Sudhanshu Mittal, an independent candidate for the polls, who has close links with top BJP leaders.
Mr Khurshid also said he has apprised Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil with the deteriorating law and order condition in UP, and the reverse countdown of the Mulayam Singh Yadav government would begin soon.
