Banerjee panel will exonerate bin Laden also: Advani

New Delhi, Mar 19 (UNI) The U C Banerjee panel, which probed the Sabarmati Express blaze in which 59 karsevaks perished, today came under fire from Leader of Opposition L K Advani, who said it could even exonerate Osama bin Laden in the 9/11 attacks.

Bin Laden, who is suspected to be the mastermind behind the September 11 terror attacks in the United States, could demand the help of the Banerjee Commission to inquire into the 9/11 incident, Mr Advani said while speaking at a national seminar on minority rights here.

''Now even Osama bin Laden will demand a Banerjee Commission probe into the attacks on the World Trade Center,'' he said, referring to the final report of the Commission, which has found the Godhra fire ''accidental''.

''The Commission will then declare bin Laden innocent and blame pilot error for the planes crashing into the towers,'' he said.
