AP CM to provide land to SPMC, SVIMS

Hyderabad, Mar 19 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and Chairman of Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SAVIMS) Executive Board, Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today agreed to provide 60.66 acres of land free of cost near Renigunta, Tirupati for the construction of Sri Padmavathi Medical College (SPMC) and SVIMS General Hospital.

The State Government earlier allotted 150 acres of land at Renigunta for SPMC and SVIMS hospital. A sum of Rs 68.09 lakh was already paid to the Government by SVIMS for allocation of 90.79 acres of land. The balance 60.66 acres is given by the State Government at free of cost to take up the construction activity.

The Tirumala-Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) would also give Rs 30 crore for the construction of college and hospital at Renigunta. The estimated cost of the total project is Rs 60 crore.
