Vigilance Inspector arrested in corruption case
Chandigarh, Mar 18 (UNI) The Punjab Vigilance Bureau ((VB) today arrested one Inspector Surjeet Singh of its own department on the charges of taking bribe of Rs 5000 from an official of the Mohali Municipal Council in Ropar district.
The accused posted at the Ropar (Vigilance Bureau) branch, was arrested after a trap was laid at his residence in Ropar, SSP (Vigilance) Gurpeet Singh here said. Inspector Surjeet Singh has been arrested under section 13 (2) of the prevention of corruption act.
