Uma writes to Sangh Priya Gautam

New Delhi, Mar 18 (UNI) Firebrand leader Uma Bharati today wrote to senior BJP leader Sangh Priya Gautam inviting him to participate in her March 21 rally at the Ram Lila Grounds here.

In the letter, she informed Mr Gautam about the purpose of her two yatras -- Ramroti and the ongoing Janadesh -- and said these had helped her chalk out her own political course prompted by considerations of self-respect, security, swadeshi, probity and swaraj (good governance), which were essential for the progress of the country.

Ms Bharati recalled how Mr Gautam's selfless service had strengthened the BJP over the years, saying it was all because of hardworking party workers like him that the party could rule the country. She said the poor and several people from the backward classes were associated with the BJP because of Mr Gautam's association with the party.

''You have set an example of simplicity in your political life.

Only a few people like you could meet the standards set by Baba Saheb Ambedkar,'' she said.

Ms Bharati also wrote a letter to senior BJP leader and former Delhi Chief Minister Madan Lal Khurana recently seeking his participation in her rally.

Describing Mr Gautam as one of the seniormost political leaders and a guide to her, she said his presence at the rally would boost her morale and help her decide further course of action.

Meanwhile, Mr Khurana has convened a press conference tomorrow, where he is expected to announce his future plans. Mr Khurana has also sent a missive to the BJP leadership to give him some honourable responsibility in the party failing which he would be forced to announce his future plans.
